SOUL CARE FOR YOUR JOURNEY DEEPER WITH GOD

Find a Spiritual Director

“I didn’t know what a blessing it would be, having a trained and gifted spiritual companion who helped me discern the Father’s presence and desire for my life. I now know the love of Jesus as I’ve never known it, learning new ways of praying and encountering Jesus in the Scriptures.”

At some point on the journey, we all find ourselves in a season of transition, a desert of the soul, or a quiet hunger for something more. We realize that while the path is ours to walk, we weren't meant to walk it alone.

Finding a spiritual director is about inviting a "holy witness" into your story. It is a gift you give your soul; the gift of being heard, the gift of sacred space, and the gift of a companion who helps you recognize the Divine presence already moving in your life.

Is Spiritual Direction Right for You?

Spiritual direction is for anyone seeking to live with greater intention and spiritual awareness. You might consider a director if:

  • You are in a "middle" space: You are between what was and what will be, and you need help discerning the way forward.

  • Your prayer feels dry: You are looking for new ways to connect with God beyond traditional methods.

  • You desire deep listening: You want a space where you can speak your truest doubts and joys without being "fixed" or judged.

  • You are hungry for formation: You want to move beyond information and into a lived, transformative relationship with Christ.

Find Your Companion for the Road

A Simple Path Forward

Finding the right "fit" is an essential part of the process. We recommend a simple three-step approach:

01 Explore our Directory

Browse our team of trained and experienced companions. Each director brings a unique background, temperament, and area of focus. Choose between in-person or online meetings.

02 Schedule a Discovery Session

Most directors offer an initial meeting to see if your spirits resonate. This is a no-pressure time to ask questions and share what you are looking for.

03 Commit to the Journey

Once you find a companion, you typically meet once a month for about an hour—creating a regular rhythm of soul care and reflection.

Practical Details: Fees and Care

As you connect with a companion, it is helpful to discuss the practical side of your journey together. Most directors charge a fee for their time and specialized training; you are welcome to discuss their specific rates during your first conversation.

Additionally, because our directors operate as independent practitioners, feel free to ask about their professional insurance during your initial meeting. While Emmaus provides this community space, each director manages the individual details and coverage of their own practice.

Our Promise to You

Our directors are all part of the Emmaus Society of Spiritual Directors (ESSD), and are professionally trained, regularly supervised, and committed to their own ongoing spiritual formation. Our aim is to provide a safe, confidential, and sacred environment for you to explore your soul's deepest questions.
